On April 17, 1961, the “Man Kam Memorial Building” was completed, with the opening ceremony officiated by Sir Robin Black, GCMG, OBE. Due to the insufficient number of classrooms in the Po Kok Girls Vocational Secondary School cum Affiliated Primary School, the then school supervisor, Sir Man-kam Lo, proposed to build a four-story building in the garden beside the front gate of Tung Lin Kok Yuen, with multiple classrooms to meet teaching needs. The total construction cost of the building was HK$130,000, half of which was donated by Sir Man-kam Lo and his wife Lady Victoria Jubilee Ho, and the rest was subsidized by the government. In addition, General Robert Ho Shai Lai contributed HK$30,000 to purchase equipment to support the long-term development of the school.
Regrettably, Sir Man-kam Lo passed away before the building was completed. In order to commemorate his contribution to Tung Lian Kok Yuen, the building was named “Man Kam Memorial Building”.
