“Before you can receive, you must learn how to give.” Supporting Lady Clara’s dream, a great philanthropist

The gift from Sir Robert: HK$100,000 in celebration of the golden wedding anniversary, encouraged Lady Clara to build Tung Lin Kok Yuen, a landmark Buddhist temple in 1935.

Sir Robert Ho Tung, in addition to providing financial support, always showed his support for the development of Tung Lin Kok Yuen and Po Kok Free School. For instance, in 1949, Sir Robert Ho Tung donated HK$50,000 for the conversion of the vacant land in front of the Yuen into a school playground. He also consistently encouraged the Board of Directors and his children to actively contribute to the efforts of Tung Lin Kok Yuen and Po Kok Free School, highlighting his deep concern for the well-being of Tung Lin Kok Yuen.
