Professor Chack Fan Lee

The Chairman of Tung Lin Kok Yuen, brings Buddhist studies programs into the University’s curriculum

Professor Chack Fan Lee succeeded Mr. Robert H. N. Ho as the Chairman of Tung Lin Kok Yuen since 1998. Under his leadership, Tung Lin Kok Yuen was declared a monument in 2017, and Buddhist studies were integrated into the University’s curriculum, introducing Buddhist teachings to the youth and professionals.

Professor Lee served as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and previously held the positions of Supervisor and President at Hong Kong Chu Hai College (HKCHC). He helped establish the Centre of Buddhist Studies at both HKU and HKCHC in 2000 and 2017 respectively, launching a broad range of Buddhist studies programs at the postgraduate, master’s, and undergraduate levels to propagate Buddhism through a new dimension. Professor Lee was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 2003, and was awarded a Silver Bauhinia Star in 2005, a Gold Bauhinia Star in 2013, and the Grand Bauhinia Medal in 2024.
